The Isabella Stewart Gardner papers span 1492–1924 and are arranged into sixteen series that document the life, interests and work of the art collector, patron and philanthropist Isabella Stewart Gardner (1840-1924), who founded the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston in 1900.
