HR: What inspires you to work at the museum?
MC: I'm inspired by the complicated beauty of the museum. A home of art where every single object holds significance because of its existence, its history. Objects at least one woman very much appreciated and honored. The museum is a love letter.
HR: What stands out as you think about your role as a VSA at the museum?
MC: The team itself stands out to me in my role as VSA. The power of these lovely personalities, each holding the day together and keeping it from being less flavorful.
HR: What feels different now that we are re-open to the public?
Shana McKenna, Archivist
“I had the opportunity to observe, study (and sometimes draw) the collection while on post. Interactions I had with colleagues, volunteers and visitors sparked my interest in the history of the museum and the Macknight Room quickly became my favorite post. To me, it was mysterious; a time capsule filled with stories and secrets. Gardner’s desk, in particular, is a perfect example of this- it is filled with strange and varied contents (rocks, photographs of the construction of the museum, playing cards).
