Our lively public tours and talks are a great way to enhance your Gardner experience. Whether you’re a first-time visitor who wants an introduction to the Museum or a returning visitor who is looking for a deeper understanding of the collection, one of our lively talks or tours will fit the bill.


Introductory Talk: Who Was Isabella Stewart Gardner?

12:30 pm and 2:30 pm

This 20-minute slide talk provides an overview of the life and legacy of Isabella Stewart Gardner. Our friendly and knowledgeable Museum Volunteers lead these talks, which are included with Museum admission. These talks take place in the New Wing.

Spotlight Talks

20 minutes
Saturdays and Sundays
12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm

Join one of our knowledgeable educators for an interactive discussion about a single work of art. Conversations are informative and lively, with an emphasis on close looking and personal connections. Featured works will rotate monthly.

Ideal for first time visitors, this conversational tour highlights Isabella Stewart Gardner’s vision and installations, and provides suggestions for exploring the Museum on your own. Each tour features one of the Museum’s floors. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. To join the tour, pick up a sticker at the Admission Desk.
