This almost square block of white marble from the 1st century CE is heavily discolored, stained and worn. A large central decorated section is highlighted by several simple borders above and below. The central section is decorated with animal forms on all four sides, two animals on each side. All the animals are approximately the same size with two front legs and, instead of back legs, a large, snake-like tail. This tail bends down into a loop beneath them before going behind the torso of the creature and emerging above, continuing to twist and curve above the animal. The animal to our left, with a head like a leopard or large ferret, appears to be chasing the animal to our right, which has a similar body but with a very long, serpent-like neck and head. The snake-headed animal twists its head up and around to face backwards toward the first animal.
