Provenance
Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the art dealer A. Pickert, Nuremberg, on 11 August 1875. It was valued at 130 florins, but this and two other small windows (C6e4 and C6e12) were included free of charge in the purchase of 8 larger windows now in the Gothic Room and Long Gallery Chapel that totaled 3400 guldens.
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
