                    Commentary
This letter from Bram Stoker, author of the horror novel Dracula (1897), thanks Isabella and Jack Gardner for their hospitality in Boston and expresses his wish that they might visit him at home in London. Gardner often placed tributes from writers within their published works, and this letter is no exception: it was an enclosure in her copy of Stoker’s thriller The Mystery of the Sea (1902).
