This heavily damaged fresco shows a mother gazing down at a child in her lap. She sits in an elaborate throne-like wooden armchair on a wooden pedestal. Its concave back is taller than her head and it is decorated with columns of spoked wheel cut outs alternating with stylized cut outs of other geometric forms. The arms of the chair are wide, plain, and a golden color wood. The mother is dressed in a floor length, taupe, hooded cloak with brownish gold lining that puddles on the pedestal at the base of the chair. The hood hides all but a thin border of her red hair. She has a large,round, solid halo around her hood. Her brown eyes look down at her son as she tilts her head to the left, smiles softly with closed lips, and brings her two hands close together at her throat as if she is about to clap or pray. Her gown is deep blue and almost entirely covered by her cloak. The child lies naked across her lap with his head pointing to the left. His eyes, hair color, and facial features resemble his mother’s. His hair forms tight red curls that frame his face. His visible ear seems overlarge. His head rests on the left arm of the chair and his feet on his mother’s cloak. His halo is a large solid reddish gold saucer decorated with crown motifs. His right arm lies on his abdomen and his left is raised slightly with its palm open. He gazes at the viewer with a knowing look and a half smile. The background of the fresco shows remnants of botanical forms and, perhaps, part of a wall hanging or tapestry. The fresco has so much missing paint and other damage that the background is hard to decipher.
