Commentary

Isabella worked with the Boston photographic firm Thomas E. Marr & Son, comprised of Thomas and his son Arthur, to document the museum. This photograph shows her portrait by John Singer Sargent (P30w1) in the Gothic Room, a gallery that first opened to the public after her death in 1924.
