This horizontal gelatin silver print photograph shows a brick fireplace in which an open pot and a kettle with a long spout are hanging from a rack. The fire underneath these items appears active, but there is a mound of ash behind the andirons. On the side of the fireplace to our left there is a stack of logs and the front legs of a chair. On the side to our right is a shovel and tall fireplace tongs standing upright. The photo is labeled, at the bottom right, T.E. Marr. On the back of the photo there is a handwritten inscription, “Fireplace in the Haughton house, Brookline.”
