Commentary

In 1886 and 1887, William Amory Gardner traveled through Greece and Germany. He wrote frequently to his aunt, Isabella Stewart Gardner, about his adventures. In this letter from Berlin, William Amory tells Isabella about his lodgings in Berlin, his longing to be back in Greece, and how eager he is to see her later in the summer.
