Isabella worked with the Boston photographic firm Thomas E. Marr & Son, comprised of Thomas and his son Arthur, to document her collection. This photograph was probably taken shortly after Isabella purchased the painting, The Virgin and Child with Infant Saint John the Baptist and Six Female Saints (P15s5), by Andrea Mantegna (1431-1506) in 1899. It hangs in the museum's Early Italian Room.
