Web Commentary
Before moving to the 4th floor of the museum, Isabella lived in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood at 152 Beacon Street. This photograph shows the 17th century German polychome sculpture of the Virgin and Child with a king and bishop saints (S28e3), in the Red Drawing Room at that home. Isabella later installed it in the Chapel of the museum, where it resides today.
