Streamers from Temple Banner, mid 18th century
Paper and silk brocade, 6.7 x 104.1 cm (2 5/8 x 41 in.)
These two narrow (about 3.5 inches) paper and silk brocade streamers have a dark brown background with a lighter tan scroll-like pattern of clouds, dragons, and interlaced geometric designs. This pattern is repeated vertically throughout the strips and each streamer is edged in gold and red patterned brocade.
