A Japanese folding fan with thin, separated bamboo ribs. It’s lower forty percent consists of bare bamboo ribs, held together with a circular metal pin near the bottom from which the ribs spread out laterally. Pink watercolor paper with folds, covers the upper sixty percent, the only decoration being two widely separated, white, almost square block-like prints with four, thin, vertical pink lines interrupting the white background at regular intervals, but differing in length and upper terminations. The back of the paper of the fan is white, and you can see the bamboo ribs attached to the back of the paper.
