Impost Block: Scenes of the Passion, 1125-1135

A carved limestone block is attached to the wall on one of its vertical faces, whereas its other three lateral faces are visible. Underneath, the block is supported by a pedestal made from another material. The vertical front face, which is opposite to the wall, along with the lateral vertical face to our left appear to be decorated with one, continuous scene. The scene features robed figures standing on short legs. The figures have large heads and features, and detailed hair. One figure is seen carrying a cross, others are seen carrying or brandishing swords and daggers, and another appears to be reading aloud. The lateral vertical face to our right has been left unsculpted.
