She gazes downward at the Christ Child.  Her slender hands are visible; her left hand guides her right nipple to the Christ Child to nurse and her right hand encircles his waist as support.  The Christ Child is seated upright in front of Mary on a burgundy velvet cushion.  He has a calm expression on his face, reddish curly hair and is about to begin nursing.  He holds his left hand at his chest and his right hand is stretched downward.  His legs extend beyond the light gray cloth that covers his lap.  The two windows in the background show hilly landscape scenes with blue sky.  The Virgin and Child are framed by a highly decorated arch above them and richly carved red columns on each side.
