Fragment of a Fresco, 1st century
Fresco painting, 24 x 24 cm (9 7/16 x 9 7/16 in.)
This unevenly shaped fragment was once part of an intact wall painting. Little color remains on this fragment, as most of it is off white with areas of gray and brown. A strip of dark red paint runs across the top half of the fragment. In the bottom half is a row of animal carvings. Below this row are two horizontal indented lines. The fragment sits on a flat black stand with clips holding it.
