This bright watercolor fan with a ribbon binding features the image of a rooster standing on a cannon with the sun in the background and a group of country flags to our right. On the top of the fan is the multi-colored ribbon binding featuring thin lines of black, yellow, red, blue, and cream, repeating for 2-3 cycles. Starting from the left, there is a short cherry blossom tree, grass with wildflowers scattered across it, and tan sand leading to the light blue ocean with a huge yellow sun rising against a bright blue sky, emanating golden rays. In the center of the fan is a rooster. The proud rooster stands with a maroon chest thrusted out, a yellow neck, and its beak open to sing. He stands upon a brown colored cannon laying horizontally on the ground and pointing to the viewer's left. The rooster's bushy, aquamarine tail feathers points to five flags. Starting from the  right is the French flag with a horizontal blue, white, and red stripe. Next is the British flag with a dark blue background and red stripes bordered in white in an X shape and T shape. Most of this flag covers the next, which is yellow with a black emblem. Next is the Italian flag with green, white, and red vertical stripes. The last flag, the Belgian flag, shows a sliver of a black stripe, covered mainly by the Italian flag next it, yellow, and red vertical stripes. Behind the flags there is dense vegetation and in front of the grouping is a green plant. The back of the fan features clouds in shades of white and light blue. Centrally featured is a crown of oak leaves . In the center of the wreath are the dates 1914 and 1915 vertically lined up. To our right, on the last panel of the fan is black handwritten text that says "To Y in America for A on the other side. June 1915."
