This oval engraving is a bust-length portrait of Marie Antoinette done in black, gray and white tones. She is light-skinned and her light hair is tightly curled and extends to her shoulders. She gazes directly at the viewer with a neutral expression on her face and is turned slightly to our right. She wears a bonnet with a high crown and a grouping of feathers on the brim to our right. Her dark dress has a low décolletage trimmed with delicate white lace. The text below includes her name and the date of November 2, 1755. There are white specks throughout the dark background. This image appears to be a page from a book.
