Bell and Bracket, 17th century - 19th century
Cast bronze and wrought iron
This bell of cast bronze is hinged to a cantilevered wrought iron bracket. The bracket has a scrolled counterweight on one end and a loop for a pull cord at the other. Centered on the swivel at the top of the bracket an additional serpentine stamping serves as both counterweight and decorative flourish. The bell is decorated with what appears to be people and a crown.
