Provenance
Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the dealer C. McCarthy, Boston on 1 January 1892 for $1,500 for the sedan chair, a set of Worcester Armorial china (museum no. C1s49.1-24), and a table (museum no. F21s8).
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
