Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the Hirase sale by the Asian antiquities dealers Yamanaka & Co. at Copley Hall, Boston for $27 on 8 November 1902, lot 384, through the auctioneer Frank A. Leonard, Boston. (as a pair of doors)
Commentary
