Hanging Lamp, 1602

This lamp hangs from a decorative black wall bracket by a single ring. The ring attaches to a dome-shaped silver form. Three detailed chains descend from the form and attach to a large silver bowl-shaped form below. The chains are made up of alternating wire and decorative pieces. Three short simple chains connect the longer chains to a frosted glass container for the oil or a candle. The chains attach inside the rim of the large silver bowl. The exterior of the bowl is carved with scrolling patterns and shapes, and some lettering is visible. From a silver knob at the bottom of the bowl hangs a brass piece and a red tassel.
