This tiny plaster scarab is oval-shaped with a beetle carved on the top and an animal carving on the bottom with a green and bronze coloring. It is oval with a flat bottom and a domed upper surface carved into a beetle form. The beetle’s body is divided by two perpendicular incised lines to form a large pair of closed wings and a smaller upper region.  A tiny central head flanked by short thick antennae has been simplistically carved adjacent to the torso. Much of the surface shows mild cracking and a few gouges are evident. The carving on the bottom of the scarab shows a standing lion in profile with its tail held up and curled in toward the center of the scarab. A simple horn shape, akin to the shape of a small boat, known as a neb basket, appears above the lion. Snakelike shapes appear directly in front of and behind the lion.
