Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the dealer A. Pickert, Nuremberg, for 450 florins on 11 August 1875 (as "Washing feet," about 1470, from the demolished Schüster Kirche, Nuremberg).
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
