This vertical engraving on off-white paper is finely lined and crowded with dozens of figures that appear to reside in the clouds, layered in four different tiers. Many figures are nude, partly clothed, or wearing draped clothing. The largest figures, which are lighted with the most contrasting light, are arrayed in the second tier from the bottom half of the artwork, which spreads across the width of the engraving. At the right center of this tier sits a male figure astride a cloud, with his back toward us and his bearded head turned left. He wears a helmet, a draped garment, and boots, and some sort of rod held downward from his extended left hand. This is presumably Jupiter. To his right, there is another helmeted figure wearing armor and drapery, and holding a torch and a sword. To that figure’s right there is a nude woman with her back to us, and another figure at the right edge of the engraving. To the left of Jupiter there is a trio of musicians playing their instruments. Beneath the Jupiter tier there is a collection of smaller figures forming the first tier. Above the Jupiter tier there is the third tier of figures, that rises upward to the right. One of them is seated and holds something in her left hand and gestures upward with her right hand; there is a winged creature above her head. Another figure to her right, mostly nude, gestures toward her. At the top of the artwork there is the fourth tier, consisting of more figures, some putti, and a bird. There is a detailed inscription at the bottom describing the scene, and in smaller letters underneath and to the right, an inscription with the name of the artist and the year.
