This long, horizontal panel shows the Virgin Mary, dressed in a red gown with a blue cloak covering her hair, outstretched on a stone pedestal that is covered with a light tan and brown striped cloth.  Christ is seen bending over her body and embracing her about her waist. There are twelve haloed male figures behind gathered with Christ, presumably the Apostles. One of them grasps the cloth near her feet.  Most have their hands clasped in prayer. One holds a red book, another a reed, and one has a small haloed female figure in the crook of his left arm. There are angels at each end of Mary's body; each with a halo and wings who are clasping the cloth. There are groups of two angels at each side carrying candles. At the bottom left corner is a nun who is kneeling and has her hands clasped in prayer.  A rocky landscape is seen in the background with a blue sky and a few green trees on each side.
