This horizontal watercolor painting depicts a landscape of ancient oak trees along the coast of Monterey, California. In the foreground is flat, barren earth. Large leaf-filled trees fill the midground. In the background, patches of blue ocean are visible along a coastline in the distance. The sky is mostly cloudy, but there are a few patches of blue showing through the branches. The ground and trees are painted in muted tones of brown and green. The artist’s signature is visible in the lower right corner.
