This postcard-sized, vertical rectangular print is a full-sized portrait of Cardinal Franz Von Schonborn. The print is in varying shades of brown. The Cardinal poses, seated, against a background of a plain wall, and a view from an open window. He sits up straight in an upholstered armchair. He has light skin and appears to be balding with trimmed medium-colored hair visible only toward the sides and back of his head. His ceremonial clothing includes a white shirt with long full sleeves and stand-up collar. Over the shirt is a long, medium-colored cape which drapes over the Cardinal’s knees and the sides of the chair. Under the cape, a full-length skirt which buttons up the center drapes down to his dark shoes. The Cardinal gazes directly out to the viewer. A large cross on a long chain hangs down over the front of his cape.
