Commentary
Okakura Kakuzō (1862-1913) wrote this letter to Isabella Stewart Gardner on a snowy January day in 1909. In this letter, Okakura writes about how he misses Gardner and Boston. Okakura also introduces Niiro Chūnosuke (1869-1954), who would arrive in Boston and work for a year on restoring the Buddhist sculpture at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
