The first page is divided between an image, which dominates the top half of the page, and text in two columns dominating the lower half. The bottom half has the headline, subheading and the beginning of the text. The top half features a graphic of a young woman wearing a corseted top with half length sleeves, a large rounded skirt that stops just before her buckled heels, and a hat with a rose embellishment. She stands looking down and leans slightly to our right with both hands floating just above her skirt and her wrists at right angles. Framing her is a large dark circle, cut off at the bottom so that her feet dangle outside of the dark circle and onto the page. Two potted grape plants sprawl behind the woman to her left and right. They stretch up behind her to about hand height. After following six pages featuring exclusively text in two columns, with the last page featuring a small picture. In the center of the page is the image of a woman standing on a flower pot. She is wearing a short, flowing black dress with swirls of a plant rising up and visible behind her. She holds what appear to be cymbals in her outstretched hands as she reaches up to our left while looking down behind her. The initials “C.A” are written in blocky letters on the rim of the flower pot on our right, just below her slightly raised foot. In the bottom right corner is a small shield with the words “Press of / Joseph D / McGuire / New York” written inside.
