Commentary
This note was written by Isabella Stewart Gardner, and explains the provenance of the four leaf clover which is displayed next to it in the gilt vitrine. According to the note, this was the only four leaf clover that Gardner ever found, and she happened upon it at the construction site for Fenway Court—a fortuitous sign for her new museum!
