Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the bookseller and importer Charles E. Lauriat Company, Boston, for $75 for 12 volumes on 6 August 1918.
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
