This is a set of four dark walnut and cherry wooden armchairs. The chair seat and base have a boxy feel; there are simple vertical corner supports and two sets of horizontal supports between the corner supports, one at the floor.  The larger front support features a framed area that may have been painted or inlaid; the frame is bordered by carving scrollwork.  The seat base is simple, but has a small, framed area with carved border at its front base.  The arms similarly are simple, but have lightly carved supports at the front.  The seatback is in two pieces, a lower frame with carved scrollwork, and a large framed area as the seatback top with the most intricately carved border.  There are two carved finials at the chairback corners.
