This pair of Italian benches dates from the late 19th century and is made of gracefully carved walnut. Each seat of these backless benches is upholstered in off-white plain velvet fabric. The short ends of each bench have wood sides that curve upward and outward with heavily carved cross bars. The apron is carved with a vine motif and has a curved bottom edge. The square legs are fluted and stand on claw-like feet.
