This is a pair of identical bronze candlesticks from Asia. Each candlestick has a solid base with several tiers and stands on eight curved feet. There are two lions standing on their hind legs seen in profile atop the base that has a small fence surrounding it. Their tails are curled upward and their heads are bent backwards with their mouths open as if to roar. The lions face in opposite directions: one to the front and the other to the rear. Their raised forepaws hold the vertical column of the candlestick that features several nodes, each of which is decorated with patterns tooled onto the surface. The top of the column features a large drip pan and a nail pointed upward that can hold a candle. This piece has darkened but there are areas where the bronze color is visible.
