Set of Thirteen Side Chairs and Sofa, late 18th century
Boxwood, 95.3 x 52.1 x 31.8 cm (37 1/2 x 20 1/2 x 12 1/2 in.)
The chairs of this set have straight legs and shield-shape backs. The legs have carvings and the chair backs have five spokes. The backless sofa has a seat upholstered in a red and white striped pattern and arms imitating the chair backs. The upholstery on the chair seats is a horizontal zig-zag stripe of the same red and white, which is interrupted by three wide vertical stripes of yellow and green.
