Provenance
Gift from the Japanese art historian and philosopher Okakura Kakuzo (1862-1913) to the Japanese metal artist Okabe Kakuya (1873-1918) at an unknown date.
Gift from Okabe Kakuya to Isabella Stewart Gardner, 1910.
Commentary
