Pair of Candelabras, 1780

This is a pair of bright silver two- armed candelabras. The two candelabras are identical. The center column sits on a rounded section on top of a square base. On the lower column there is a short rectangular section with four sides embellished with stylized floral motifs. Closer to the top there is a silver band with floral festoons running around the column. Above these festoons is a rounded section acting as a shoulder where two arms composed of thin silver are made in a twisting curved shape with small squares at the center. These arms terminate at rounded plates with single empty nozzles attached. The very top of the center column has a decorative vase shape with a star at its center and unfolding leaves at the crest.
