This very ornate cup is slightly scalloped and gilded around the top edge with a delicate leaf and vine motif spreading around the top of the inside. The gilded handle has extra upward curves at the outer top and outer bottom of the typically shaped handle. On the two opposing sides next to the handle, two similar, but not identical paintings of waterfront scenes, show city buildings on one side, the sea with various vessels on the other side, and a prominent column and several people milling around in the foreground. These scenes are framed by gilded rounded forms indented at the two sides of the top where gilded branching-like decorations emerge against a red background which also curls outward in feathery loops. Two human figures stand on opposite sides of the gilded frames, their backs to the frame. Various curved gilded lines against a white and red background interspersed with blue diamond shapes, decorate the space between the top of the gold frame and the top of the cup. In the space between these two framed scenes, a graceful branch with several small, green leaves and two red flowers has been painted against the white porcelain background. Here too, the outside upper edge of the cup is gilded with interspersed  red markings and three more blue diamond-shapes. The bottom of the cup and of the saucer bear the painted maker’s mark, a blue scepter. While there is no picture of the saucer itself it looks like the saucers decorations mimics that of the cup.
