This tiny crucifix, carved from bone, could be held in the palm of your hand. It is in the shape of a cross with endges and corners that have been worn shiny and smooth. There is a narrow inner cross-shaped ridge that follows the edge of the overall form. The figure of Christ being crucified is carved in relief in the center. Christ’s emaciated, elongated body shows his feet dangling and his thin legs close together. His naked torso is not much wider than his legs. His arms are sticklike as they project almost straight out to each side from a slightly thicker upper body. He lacks shoulders or definition to his face, which has been largely worn away. His rounded head is oversized for his body. It is surrounded by a semicircular depression forming a halo. There is a small spherical form carved under his feet and a square form at the upper center.
