This small Chinese porcelain punch bowl sits in a carved wooden stand. The bowl has a white glazed background and has been hand painted inside and out with sprays of realistic multi-colored leaves and flowers. The lip of the bowl is decorated with a narrow gold band and on the interior with a band of fleur de lis. The exterior of the bowl shows a scene of an Asian family in colorful traditional 18th century kimonos and robes relaxing on a green lawn with an orange fence behind them. There are two adults and two children. One child holds a large vase with a flower while an adult, leans on a rock to their left. Another adult, holds the wrist of a second child and pulls them away to the right as they wave to their playmate. Spays of oversized flowers frame the scene. The plain white, round foot of the bowl nests into a round, carved, wooden stand. The stand is a little taller than the bowl although the bowl is slightly wider. The upper section of the stand has open carving so the viewer can see through the dense foliage to the leaves and fruit on the other side. The round stand gradually narrows from its wide lip and then expands again to form a rounded foot section that is a bit smaller than its upper lip.  The foot section of the stand is a combination of open and relief carving of leaves and fruit. The stand and the bowl are harmonious in theme, if not materials, in that the dark stained wooden stand is intricately carved to resemble a twisted grape vine.
