This pair of not-quite-identical, hand painted, porcelain saucers is decorated in the center with an indigo blue spray of small flowers and large leaves. There are four maple leaves arranged in an alternate pattern on a small, broken off twig. At the far end of the twig, two sprays of small, star shaped, five petaled flowers emerge. Light and dark tones of the blue color accomplishes modeling and shows the complex pattern of reticulate veins in the leaves. The branch design is surrounded by a thin circle of blue in a skim milk color, glazed background.
