This is a tall Italian Vitrine or glass display case of a bright gilded pine and glass.  It sits atop a beautifully gilded base.  The base and cabinet combined have a total height of 76 and three-quarter inches. Elegant detailed accents with embellished scrollwork, as well as fluting and reeding decorate this case.   The serpentine top has a carved crest.  Running along either side of the front are two decorative balusters with carved crests. The single central glass door opens to reveal two gilded shelves, a back with floral scrollwork and a bottom with a checkered board pattern.  Each side has glass panes framed with the same gilded wood. The apron of the base repeats the serpentine shape and has a floral motif.   An H-shaped stretcher connects the four thin, decorative fluted legs that meet the floor with a bun foot.
