Double-Ended Perfume Bottle, early 20th century

This horizontally positioned perfume bottle consists of two small rectangular glass bottles attached at the base. The bottle to our right is clear glass and appears to be empty. The bottle to our left is dark-colored glass. The brass fittings at each end are identical. Carved brass adorns the top of each bottle, with a round brass ring sitting atop as a lid. Engraved on the ring to our left are the words Non ti scardar di me (Do not forgot me). Engraved on the ring to our right are the words L’aimité m’attache (Friendship binds me). A brass stopper with a carved triangular handle fits into the ring on each end. A simple brass chain is attached to the ring on one end and the stopper on the other end.
