Commentary
Resting in front of his easel and smoking a cigarette, Zorn takes a short pause from his work. A half-dressed model in the background looks attentively at him. With this juxtaposition, Zorn created a powerful tension between artist and model. This etching is based on the painted version made three years earlier.
