This etching depicts a woman seated in front of a window. Although her body is oriented toward our left, she looks directly at the viewer with a quizzical expression on her face. This plump woman is dressed in a light-colored dress with a dark cape around her shoulder. She wears a flat brimmed hat with a feather sticking up. She has dark hair and her face is in shadows, as the source of light comes from behind her. She has a turned-up nose, small lips and dark eyes. This work is signed and dated on the lower left, and is signed in pencil in the lower margin.
