Etched on bluish-gray paper is an image of a light-haired, light-skinned woman who is seated against a wall and is facing a light source towards the viewer's left. Her shadow is cast on the wall behind her, seen from the viewers right. She is wearing a dark, pointed hat, a coat with thick fur linings, and a striped skirt with thin and bold lines. She is using both her hands to play a guitar-like stringed instrument. Her eyes are looking downwards, as if she is concentrating on the music. Her lips are slightly open, as she appears to be singing.
