This printed etching shows an open storefront with produce on shelves and onlookers examining the produce. An awning over the storefront is printed T. A. NASH. Below the awning there appear to be two figures, one tall and one shorter, facing out toward potential customers. Hatch marks fill in the background. Simple sketches illustrate the items to be sold. Facing into the shop are five young people of varying heights and sizes. They all wear brimmed hats. Hatch marks define the clothing of the one in the center. In the foreground to our left is what appears to be the brimmed hat of another potential customer. In the lower margin, in pencil, is Whistler’s butterfly signature.
