The foreground of the image depicts a large body of water.   To our right and closest to the bridge in the distance, are four sailboats etched in dark ink. The light outlines of buildings on land can be seen at the end of the right side of the bridge. Closer to the viewer in the foreground are two long boats floating in the water.   To our left, two men are depicted in horseback wading in the water. One man appears to be holding a spear or a pole. The horses are in the water up to their bellies. Next to the men on horseback is the bow of a large boat entering the scene from our left. Further behind them in the background are two empty boats floating in the water. On the horizon, on the left side of the bridge, a dark building with two towers stands on a lightly etched coastline. Trees and two additional buildings can be seen.
